I’m Assemgul Bissenbina, Ph.D., an educator, economist, and entrepreneur passionate about helping students succeed in economics and beyond. I hold a Ph.D. in Consumer Economics from Purdue University, an M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Purdue, an M.A. in Economics from Nazarbayev University, and a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from Boston University.
With eight years of experience tutoring undergraduate and graduate students in economics, statistics, and mathematics, and four years of teaching undergraduate courses at Purdue University, I have developed a teaching style that is both engaging and effective. I received Excellence in Teaching awards from Purdue for my work with undergraduate students. I believe in personalizing each student’s learning experience, incorporating real-world examples to make complex concepts easier to understand. My goal is to help students feel confident in their studies, and I’m proud to say that every student I have tutored has successfully passed their courses.
Beyond teaching, I have experience in academic and consulting research in economics, consumer studies, and finance. I founded Bloom Path Learning to support students in their academic and career journeys, making education more accessible and less overwhelming. The name reflects both the meaning of my own name—"beautiful flower"—and Bloom’s Taxonomy, a framework that guides effective learning. Through Bloom Path Learning, I strive to empower students to reach their full potential with confidence and clarity.
