I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years. I earned a BS in psychology, MS in Human Services, and a Certificate in Health, Wellness, and Life Coaching. Through a combination of my work experience and education I discovered a recipe for success. An individualized and deliberate treatment plan utilizing a combination of evidenced based clinical and behavioral interventions targeting the WHOLE person creates the permanent lifestyle change YOU are looking for.
CBT explores the relationships between thoughts, feelings, and actions/behaviors. We will take an in-depth look into your thoughts and how they are impacting you. You will learn how to reframe unproductive thoughts and thinking.
Together we look at 4 principals: Mindfulness, Interpersonal Relationships, Distress Tolerance, and Emotional Regulation. You will learn skills in all 4 areas making you better able to navigate your personal life.
Often times we become stuck on the problem. Our brains feel like they are in a fog. Solution focused therapy takes the power away from the problem and gives the power to the solution. We will focus on developing a solution focused plan.
Topics covered include anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, obsessive thoughts, compulsive behavior, family issues, and communication. Together we explore what you are experiencing and identify ways to better manage any situation.
We explore your current relationship with food. You begin to make small behavioral changes which will yield gigantic results. I will create an individualized meal plan based on the types of foods you like.
Life coaching is about developing goals and making a purposeful and deliberate plan to meet them. Life coaching covers topics to include transitions, change, career development, managing relationships.
As a clinician I completed initial assessments, facilitated individual, group, and family therapy sessions. I created individual treatment plans, provided education, and utilized a variety of clinical interventions to best meet the client's needs. I received and facilitated weekly clinical supervision.
I am the primary counselor for 7 clients who suffer from severe and persistent mental illness. I accompany them to their appointments, advocate on their behalf and am overall responsible for maintaining their day-to-day schedules.
