I am looking forward to helping your child meet academic success and guiding them through the process of excelling in the subjects of Reading Comprehension and Fluency, Phonics/Phonemic Awareness, Essay Writing, and/or Grammar/Syntax.
A little about myself: I've been a teacher for over 13 years in the United States public school system. I have a Master's Degree in Education, and have helped numerous students of all ages meet academic success and perform above grade level year after year.
Having taught for many years, I've developed a teaching philosophy that helps my students both in and out of the classroom. Building their confidence is first step towards ensuring their success, so I begin by getting to know them and fostering a bias/judgment-free environment. I create an encouraging environment for students to discover their learning styles and work with them to strengthen their weaknesses by building upon their strengths and interests.
My love for learning and critical thinking is contagious. I believe that reading is the fundamental basis for all subject areas and that all children can learn and reach their full potential. I help my students to find learning interesting and rewarding, as well as help them to build confidence in themselves and their abilities to become great readers and writers!
