Hello! My name is Sinéad. I am a native English speaker from Ireland. I am a TEFL-qualified English tutor. I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a Master's Degree in Health Sciences (Palliative Care).
I am passionate about teaching English to healthcare professionals. I worked as a nurse for 5 years in Ireland so my experience has helped me greatly in supporting non-native English speakers to feel more confident in the English-speaking healthcare environment.
What to expect
In the trial lesson, we’ll make a plan for our lessons. I’ll share the resources and topics I have available, as well as discussing your ideas, preferences and requests. Through this, we can be sure that the lessons are personalized to you. I make sure our lessons are dynamic and interesting, with lots of feedback so that you know what you are doing well and what we can work on during the lessons.
Potential Topics for the lessons
Every student is unique, with their own goals and personal challenges. Through these private lessons, we will work on your English level in an individualized way. For example, if your goal is communicating with healthcare professionals and patients in the hospital setting, we can focus on a lot of speaking activities, role plays and building your medical vocabulary. If you are struggling with certain grammar points, I design lessons to help you better understand and practice those. I make sure all corrections are written down during the lesson so that you have a record of these mistakes, which makes it easier for you to review and improve.
General English topics can, of course, be included (there’s more to life than work after all!).
So! I encourage you to book a 30-minute trial lesson so we can get to know each other and make a plan! Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions about my schedule, the booking process or anything else! I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
All the best,
Sinéad
