Hello! I am Kelly! I am a former elementary school teacher, current mom to 3 little ones, and tutor/teacher ready to help your child excel!
As a student, I loved school, but I was often the "quiet kid". I feel I am able to relate to students that say they are too scared to speak up and ask questions in class.
I love to take my littles out into the world to explore - parks, zoo, aquarium, we love to get out! In the limited free time I have, I do enjoy puzzles and family game nights!
I was in the classroom for over 10 years, both as a substitute teacher and as a regular classroom teacher. I have worked with grades kindergarten through 8th grade with substitute teaching and tutoring. The bulk of my time with my own class was with 3rd graders, though I did also teach 1st and 4th grade.
Math is definitely my favorite, however I love teaching in general. I also have experience with teaching online! During the pandemic, I was selected as the online only teacher for 3rd grade at my last school.
I enjoy making learning fun! I try to find or create activities and lessons that include games and digital "hands-on" activities. I also like to teach concepts in a variety of ways so students can find the method or strategy that works best for them!
