Hello there! I'm Jafar Saffar, and I would be thrilled to be your tutor. I specialize in early childhood education and study habit formation for grades 4-12. But first, here's a bit about me: I graduated from high school in 2019, where I took on the challenge of advanced AP courses, immersing myself in the world of academia. Then I began as a pre-med, Chemistry and Biochemistry major at Kent State University. I excelled in rigorous coursework, graduating Summa Cum Laude with Honors. I received the Undergraduate Chemistry Excellence Award, reflecting high academic achievement, peer support and my dedication to research, evidenced by my three years of biochemistry research. In collaboration with a lab at Harvard Medical School, we explored the role of elevated NAT8L and NAA gene expression in cancer development. We recently submitted a publication on this work that focuses on the detrimental effects of oxidative base modifications on NAT8L mRNA translation. This experience was invaluable, allowing me to apply classroom knowledge to the real world, engage with longstanding scientific questions, and conduct experiments directly contributing to medical progress. I began tutoring programs both at Westlake high school and Kent State University that are still running today, helping students excel. My passion lies in helping students not only grasp complex math and science concepts but also in cultivating effective study habits that set the foundation for lifelong learning that will stick with them through college.
