  • 25 Minute One-to-One Lesson
    Fully individualised lessons where the student will choose a subject that interests them, and we will set a text for us to read together and discuss. I really do have books on virtually everything imaginable, and have taken lessons on everything from DNA, to Roald Dahl books, the Loch Ness monster, and even Atlantis! I studied Environmental Science, and Physics and Space Technology at university, as well as working as a programmer in a top UK environmental consultancy. I love explaining and talking about science and environmental issues! Any relevant grammar points can be learnt and practised if required, and any pronunciation issues will also be worked on.

About Me

UK native online ESL teacher with many years’ and over 6000 lessons of experience of teaching mostly children online! I have a Bachelor of Science degree, TEFL certificates and numerous educational theory, ethics and teaching methodology qualifications which I completed in Portuguese.

I like to teach in a way that encourages children to speak, to use and adapt the language they know to communicate effectively.

I love teaching children and am a strong believer in teaching using implicit learning, the natural way that children learn their mother tongue. By adding a little vocabulary and grammar each week in a fun and natural way, it's amazing how quickly children's language skills and confidence grow!

I am lucky enough to have taught some students for years, some for nearly 500 lessons! I have watched them change from not knowing a word of English, to being able to read and communicate effectively, I truly feel that they are my international family!

Having young children myself, I find it easy to relate to children and definitely enjoy the lessons with my young students. I find great satisfaction in having children gain confidence and language fluidity whilst enjoying their lessons. I especially like when a student unconsciously corrects themselves whilst concentrating on winning a game!

    Zoe is an excellent teacher! Classes with her have been so worthwhile! She is very patient — which anyone that takes a language needs – and it’s very comfortable to practice conversations, which is also a huge plus. She is helping me to improve my reading and writing.
